Target audience research

Target Audience Research

As you can see that the genre we are choosing to use 'Drama' with a sub Genre 'Crime' is rather popular as it is ranked 3rd with 55% of the general public saying they enjoy watching 'Drama'. My group think that it is good that we have chosen a genre with such a high percentage because we should statistically get more views and interest in are film opening than if we used a different Genre.

Although the statistics show that females aged over 35 from social class A/B prefer 'Drama' films, our target audience is working class teens because of our sub-genre of crime. We think that choosing a target audience for this genre will work effectively for the social class that we have chosen to aim it at as people in the working class will be able to relate situations shown like in many 'Crime Dramas' such as 'Green Street', 'Kidulthood', 'Adulthood'  Etc. All these films show how the day to day life runs for people that live in a different environment to the upper class people A/B.

As you can see that 19% of the public would class my chosen genre as there personal favorite which i think is rather good as the four genres above it are not significantly higher than the percentage that 'Drama' has been given. This shows that will be a good chance of a high interest in are film. There is still plenty that we need to research about it but i think will detailed research we are able to reach the quality/standard that are target audience is looking for in a 'Crime/Drama' film.

As you can see that this shows the percentage pf male, female and also social class that would class
'Drama' as there favorite. As you can see women 35+ again are saying that this is there most favorite genre with 30% telling us this however we have chosen a Sub-Genre 'Crime' which we think will lower the percentage and higher the percentage of male and females watching it at the age of <35 we also came to the conclusion that it shall lower the social class to D/E as people in this class can relate to these types of situations that we are thinking about  putting in the are film opening.
